Water Management Plans and Flood Risk in Cyprus

Project Objective:The preparation of the 2nd Draft River Basin Management Plan (RBMP) of Cyprus for the implementation of Directive 2000/60/EC (WFD) and the 1st Flood Risk Management Plan (FRMP) for the implementation of Directive 2007/60/EC.
Expected Results: River Basin Management Plan, Drought Management Plan, Flood Risk Management Plan, Programme of Measures, Strategic Environmental Assessment Study and Public Consultation Campaign.

The project may be co-financed by the EU Cohesion Fund by 85% of the total expenditure.

Public consultation for the Preliminary Flood Risk Management Plan of Cyprus (2016-2021)

The Water Development Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and the Environment, in application of Article 10 of the Assessment and Management of Flood Risks 2007/60/EC in Cyprus, announces the launch of the Public Consultation for the configuration of the
1st Draft Flood Risk Management Plan.

Public Consultation period: December 30, 2015 to February 20, 2016

A “consultation” form was provided to all stakeholders and the public for comments and observations on the preliminary FRMP (below). The public and the Stakeholders were also requested to fill in the “consultation” questionnaire provided below.
