Major Dams to Overflow

As a result of recent intensive rainfall, inflow to the Cyprus dams increased significantly. The total inflow between 20 and 24 January 2012 was 20,5 milion cubic metres. Inflow to the dams of the Paphos Region was significantly higher than the rest of Cyprus and it is expected that the Dams of Asprokremmos (capacity 52,3 milion cubic metres) and Kannaviou (capacity 17,2 milion cubic metres) will start to overspill in the next few days. These dams were 92,1% and 84,6% full on 24/1/2012.

Kouris dam which is the biggest dam in Cyprus with a capacity of 115 million cubic metres was 54,6% full on 24/1/2012.
