The President of the Republic leaves for New York

The President of the Republic, Mr Nicos Anastasiades, leaves tomorrow evening, 19 March, for New York where he will hold a meeting with the UN Secretary General and will address an investment forum on Cyprus, as well as hold a series of meetings with representatives of Energy companies and leaders of the Cypriot and Greek communities, and other officials.

Specifically, on 20 March, President Anastasiades, who will be accompanied by the Government Spokesman, Mr Nikos Christodoulides, will attend a dinner hosted in his honor by the leadership of the Cypriot community in New York.

On 21 March, President Anastasiades will declare the closing of the day’s trading session of the New York Stock Exchange.

On 22 March, the President of the Republic will meet with the UN Secretary General, Mr Antonio Guterres, at the UN Headquarters.

He will subsequently meet with Archbishop Demetrios of America, at the Archbishopric.

Later in the day, President Anastasiades will address the Official Luncheon organized in the framework of the international forum “Invest in Cyprus”, which will take place at the Metropolitan Club.

The Forum is organized by Capital Link company, in cooperation with the Cyprus Union of Shipowners, the Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency (CIPA) and the Cyprus – US Chambers of Commerce.

The Forum aims at raising awareness among the US investment, finance and business communities on the opportunities offered in Cyprus for investments and business.

In the evening of 22 March, the President of the Republic will attend a working dinner with high ranking officials of the ExxonMobil company.

On 23 of March, President Anastasiades will hold separate meetings with the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs of the United Kingdom, Mr Boris Johnson, and the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovakia, Mr Miroslav Lajčák, who will chair the 72nd UN General Assembly.

In the evening of 23 March, the President of the Republic will leave for Rome, where he will attend the EU Informal Heads of State and Government Summit to commemorate the 60thanniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Rome.
