• Cyprus problem on Cyprus-Greece-Jordan First Trilateral Summit joint declaration

    "We express our full support to the continuation of the negotiation process, under the Good Office Mission of the UN SG, for a just, comprehensive and viable settlement of the Cyprus problem, in line with international law, the principles upon which the EU is founded and the relevant UNSC Resolutions. We commend the efforts of the President and the Government of the Republic of Cyprus to reach a solution that will reunify the island and safeguard Cyprus’s independence", declaration, inter alia, states.
  • Agreements signed among Cyprus, Greece and Jordan

    Cyprus, Greece and Jordan signed trilateral agreements on the fields of renewable energy sources, culture and maritime, in the framework of the first Trilateral Summit, held at the Presidential Palace, in Lefkosia, on 16 January. The meeting was chaired by the President the Republic, Mr Nicos Anastasiades, the King of Jordan, Abdullah II, and the Prime Minister of Greece, Mr Alexis Tsipras.
  • PIO will operate as Press Center and the Office of Chief Returning Officer during Presidential Elections

    The Press and Information Office will operate as Press Center and the Office of the Chief Returning Officer during the 2018 Presidential Elections, in order to facilitate local and foreign media representatives. At the PIO Press Center, the Chief Returning Officer will be making statements to the press and the official announcements of the Central Election Service of the Ministry of Interior will be issued.
  • Drone use rules

    The use and operation of Unmanned Aircraft (drones), within the airspace of the Republic of Cyprus, is governed under specific legislation. Owners and/or holders of drones should register/declare their drones by providing the information required by document DCA/UAV/01, which is published on www.mcw.gov.cy/dca Drone declaration is mandatory and free of charge. Owners and or users of drones are required to comply with the legislation. Violation of the law constitutes an offence and offenders will be liable to penalties.
