The objectives of the foreign policy of the Republic of Cyprus is to have an active involvement in processes that aim at promoting international co-operation, peace, security and stability.
Cyprus has always been a dedicated supporter of human rights, the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states and a strong advocate of international peace and security. Its geographical position enables Cyprus to play a role both in the Eastern Mediterranean region and within the European family.
Currently, Cyprus maintains diplomatic relations with over 170 countries. It has resident diplomatic missions in more than 40 countries and international organisations, with parallel accreditation in an additional 110 countries and international organisations.
