The Office of the Coordinator for Harmonisation deals mainly with issues related to the harmonization of the national law with the Acquis Communautaire
The Office is responsible for the continuous follow up and the coordination of Government Ministries and Departments for the correct and timely transposition of EU Directives into the national law.
Furthermore, the Office is totally responsible for the management of the Central Database in which all national harmonisation measures and for the official notification of these measures to the General Secretariat of the European Commission.
The Office keeps the Office of the President of the Republic and the Council of Ministers informed with continuous reports related to the progress accomplished in the adoption of the Acquis Communautaire and works in close cooperation with the House of Representatives for the timely transposition of the EU Directives.
In addition, the Office works in close cooperation with the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, the Legal Service of the Republic and the Planning Bureau for the full accomplishment of its mission. |
