The Government Web Portal (G.W.P) is a Website and constitutes the central access/entry point to all available government information and eServices.

The G.W.P is Citizen centric and it is based on the "Life Event Cycle" philosophy. In particular, it is based on one´s most important life events (Birth, Education, National Guard Service, Employment, Marriage, Family, Retirement) and hence the citizen doesn’t need to know which government organisation is responsible for the information he/she is looking for. The Government Web Portal has 4 different "Life Event Cycles": Citizen, Non Residents, Business and Government.

The visitor can search, not only within the Government Web Portal´s content, but also within the content of all Government websites, which are hosted on the Government Internet Node.

In the case you know under which Ministry/ies the information you are looking for might be, select the particular Ministry/ies, in order to confine your search to the content of the Websites of the Departments/Services of the Specific Ministry/ies. In the case you don’t select "All".

In the case you will not select any Ministry, your search will be confined within the content of the Government Web Portal only.

It is classified that, the content of the G.W.P is ALWAYS searched by the Global Search, while the simple "search" is confined ONLY within the content of the G.W.P.

It is a service that the Government Web Portal provides for its "Registered Users", in order to adjust the Government Portal to their own interests and needs. Moreover, if they wish, they can choose the "Inform me for Updates" service, in order to be informed by email, each time new updates are added in the Government Portal. The functions and features of "My Portal" are:

• Selection of the default Life Event Cycle to be displayed when entering the G.W.P.

• Selection of the Areas of Interest to be displayed seperately (e.g, Economy, Commerce & Industry, Subsidies, Taxation, Tenders, Εuropean Union, etc).

• Reminder for important events, such as birthdays, meetings, aniversaries, etc (Personal Diary).

• Bookmarking of useful frequently used links, to Goverment and non-Goverment websites (e.g, PIO, BBC, CNN, etc).

• Re-arrangement of the G.W.P look, according to the user’s needs, preferences and conveniences. That is, the users can define/designate which "window" to appear on the screen and at what position.

The Government Web Portal consists of 4 Life Event Cycles: Citizen, Non Residents, Business and Government.

Each Life Event Cycle is divided into chapters/steps. At the end of each Cycle, there are related Areas of Interest. Moreover, at the end of each Cycle chapter/step there are related links.

The content of the Government Web Portal is also classified in thematic sections, called "Areas of Interest".

The related links are URLs that link, either to internal G.W.P webpages or to external websites (Government and non-Government).

It is an eService provided to the registered users of the G.W.P, enabling them to being notified, by email, each time additional content is placed on the Government Web Portal.

• All fields must me filled in Latin characters.
• Fields marked with a red asterisk are mandatory.
• Make sure that the email address you will enter is correct, since your username and password will be sent to that address.
• Click "Yes" on the "Inform me for Updates", if you wish to receive email alerts, each time additional content is placed on the G.W.P.
• Type a secret question, for which its answer is simple to remember; you will need it, in case you forget your password.
• Click on "Submit" to register to "My Portal". A username and password will be sent to the email you have entered.

With the personalisation function, a registered user can adjust the Government Portal to suit his/her own interests, needs, preferences and convinience, as below:

1. Click on "Login" under "My Portal".
2. Click on "Personalisation", under either your personal tab (WELCOME) or under "My Portal".

The available information and electronic services are classified by 4 different ways: by Life Cycles, by Areas of Interest, by Electronic Services and by Ministries, Departments/Services. As a result, the visitor can locate the information/service that he/she is looking for with 4 different ways, according to how many and what details are known to him/her for the specific information/service.

Furthermore, the visitor has the ability to search the content of the G.W.P (simple "search") or to select "Global Search" in order to search, not only in the content of the G.W.P, but also in the content of all Government websites, that are hosted on the Government Internet Node.

The Site Map is another way for the user to get at a glance a global view of the subjects and services provided by the G.W.P.

1. Select "MY PORTAL", at the top right corner of your screen.
2. Select "Password Reminder".
3. Fill-in your address and select "Check e-mail".
4. Answer your secret question.
5. If your answer is correct, you will receive an email with your username and password.

1. Once you login to "My Portal", select "Personalisation" from your personal tap (WELCOME).
2. Then select "Personal Details" to change them.
3. Select "Submit".

The G.W.P is updated as soon as the Department of Information Technology Services receives any additional or revised information by any Government Organisation. As far as the content of the various Government Web Sites is concerned, the responsibility for content update is on the corresponding Ministry, Department/Service.

What are the advantages of "My Portal"?

Most of the information in the Government Web Portal is a result of the links to Government or/and non-Government websites and therefore the language depends on the content of those websites.
